Desmet Ballestra is the world leader in developing, engineering and supplying technologies, processing plants and proprietary equipment for the food, feed and chemical industries.

The Oils, Fats & Oleochemicals division delivers tailor-made engineering and procurement services in preparation, extraction, processing, refining and fat modification for oilseed and edible oil processing plants. We master the processing of 40 raw materials, of which soybeans, palm oil, sunflower seed, rapeseed, groundnuts and cottonseed are probably the most popular.

FINANCIAL ANALYST

The purpose of this FP&A position is to support the financial reporting for the FEED, FOOD & GREENFUEL Division.

• Support actively the Division Financial Controller (covering Europe, North America, South America, India, China, Southeast Asia)
• Gather and consolidate the monthly reporting and follow-up deadlines
• Perform specific financial analysis and controls
• Ensure data consistency and integrity, take appropriate actions
• Proactively identify and explain variances
• Collaborate as a keyteam player with stakeholder (HR, Accounting, Senior Management, Global Functions)
• Support the improvement of accounting and reporting processes
• Cooperate, support and challenge the Business Units
• Challenge status quo, identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats in the daily tasks
• Comfortable with IAS and IFRS

Main duties:

• P&L review: Monthly download, accruals, prepaids, intercompany recharges
• FP&A for overheads, actual vs forecast vs budget
• Others: spare parts, IFRS16, bonds, overdues and intercompany reconciliations

Required profile:

• Graduate in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance or related field
• 5 years experience with financial analysis and reporting, project control, cost control and/or audit
• Strong Excel skills
• Proven mastery on large data handling and tool-driven data analysis
• POWER BI skills
• ERP experience
• Good communication and team player
• High organizational skills
• Excellent analytical skills, intellectual curiosity and a high level of accuracy
• A pro-active and self-driven attitude
• Ability to learn quickly, to focus on results and to meet deadlines
• Talented in problem solving
• Service minded, reliable back-up for colleagues
• Fluent in English (French and/or Dutch is a nice to have)
