For a scale-up company located in Ghent dealing within green mobility, we are looking for an accountant / financial controller.

You are responsible for financial record-keeping and monitoring of the daily activities, financial planning and analysis, forecasting and budgeting. We’re looking for someone to be the CFO’s right-hand where your tasks will be broader than accounting in the narrow sense.

Always dreamt of a wide range of tasks where each week will be different, where you will learn quickly how an organization is managed inside out from a financial perspective and you are backed by a well-established multinational? Don’t look any further and read this vacancy! This is not your average finance job.

What do we expect from you?

Accounting (50%):

  • You review and approve invoices
  • You are responsible for credit transfers
  • You reconcile invoices and payments
  • You review journals and posting
  • You are responsible for asset management
  • You assist in the annual audit
  • You liaise with the external accountant

Financial Controlling (30%):

  • You make cost, revenue and profitability analyses
  • You prepare cashflow plans
  • You prepare quarterly forecasts and annual budget reports for internal use and for the investors

Insurance (20%):

  • You make bicycle insurance policy requests
  • You follow up insurance claims with customers and the insurers

Who do we need to excel in this job?

We don’t like to label people, but you like to put a cost center on an invoice. You dream of profitability analyses and you happily dive through the different billing histories in search of a lost payment. In addition:

  • You have at least 1 year of experience in accountancy or financial controlling
  • You have a higher education degree
  • You are fluent in English or Dutch
  • You are an Excel wizard and have worked with CRM or ERP software before
  • You can work independently
  • You are communicative
  • You like structure and are precise
  • You are not afraid to get up during team meetings and say "no, that is not in the budget!"
