Tasks

  • Develop and configure application components according to the design and specification documents in the context of large scale projects;
  • Identify, propose and implement technical solutions for the design and development of application components (presentation, backend, integration etc.)
  • Internal testing for the implemented feature or resolved bugs;
  • Assist, plan, analyse, design, program and implement web-based and desktop interfaces, Code review and refactoring;
  • Plan, design, develop and maintain complex databases;
  • Import and transform data from other formats into SQL Server or required formats;
  • Identify, propose and implement technical solutions for the design and development of data and business models and support the modelling development process(business process modelling and data modelling);
  • Document the solution descriptions in various stages: specification and detail design, technology or design decisions, release notes, installation and configuration documentation, maintain the requirements traceability matrix which reflects the coverage of requirements by the solution, progress reports, etc.
  • Install and configure the necessary environments for the development and testing activities;
  • Test software and databases before release, ensuring their integrity, troubleshoot problems and assist with change requests;
  • Provide assistance for the test team for building the test plan (test cases, test data);
  • Perform data checks and data quality control.
  • Participate in workshops and meetings with external stakeholders;
  • Train users on applications when required

Knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of ITIL best practices in ICT operations
  • Knowledge of ICT infrastructure and systems.
  • Skills in test design techniques, and relevant project management knowledge.
  • Ability to design, implement and maintain the user interface architecture and inter-module communication of a large application;
  • Technos/frameworks: Java; Agile/Scrum; Angular; Eclipse; Jenkins; JIRA; Oracle DB; PL/SQL; SOAP and Rest web services; SOAPUI; Spring (Core, Boot, Web); SVN/Git; Vaadin; Weblogic
  • Candidate’s stability & long-term commitment are key for this mission!

Summary of mandatory requirements

  • Experience: Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in domain
  • Languages: English MANDATORY + French is a strong asset
  • Start: This is a freelance position. We are looking for freelancers that are able to start ASAP

Location

Brussels, Belgium (remote work is possible but the candidate must be able to access the client’s offices in a delay of 2 hours when on-site presence is requested)
