ABOUT THE JOB
As our Automation Manager, you will:
- Ensure smooth execution of control systems programming for each project, adhering to contract requirements and internal agreements.
- Manage budgets for automation projects, including resource allocation, time tracking, and efficiency.
- Plan early involvement: If a non-standard or external control system is chosen during sales, organize execution accordingly, including deciding whether to program in-house or outsource.
- Build and improve collaborations with third parties to delegate tasks effectively and maintain quality control. Ensure on-site training and support for Commissioning Engineers.
- Maintain a uniform approach to tasks performed by Control & Automation Engineers. Set standard formats for functional descriptions and supervise their proper use.
- Work with the team to revise and update VYNCKE standards, ensuring they meet industry benchmarks. Organize internal roll-out through clear communication, training, and peer involvement (including unit managers, project managers, and discipline coaches).
ABOUT YOU
We imagine our ideal candidate would:
- Act as the company’s main point of contact for automation in industrial projects. You don’t need to be an expert, but you are informed about the industry, have a relevant network, understand future trends, and distinguish between passing hypes and reliable solutions.
- Have experience with various technology platforms (Siemens Tia Portal, Siemens PCS7, ABB, Schneider…) and be familiar with PLC-programming languages, with working experience as manager in this domain.
- Be able to lead internal projects -cross countries- via scope definition, key stakeholders’ management, planning, milestones, communication…
- Be able to restructure a team, recruit and hire new talent and acknowledge the skills and contributions of your team members.
- Be willing to travel frequently between Belgium and the Czech Republic, especially in the first years.
- Be fluent in English.
