As Business Manager your key responsibility is to lead the Synaps business at a global scale. She/he will conduct extensive market research and analyses, develop strategic business plans, set goals and timelines to ensure tangible growth of the Synaps business. In order to reach this ambitious target, you will manage directly a dynamic sales team and co-operate with the Business Unit Manager, R&D, Operations and Finance.
As Business Manager you are responsible for:
- Managing the P&L responsibility for the Synaps business line
- Developing and executing global sales strategies (channels, pricing, target markets,...) with a focus on strong growth of the product portfolio, in line with the Business Unit strategy.
- Achieving the commercial objectives (volumes, margins, availability,...) according to the annual sales budget and the 5-year growth-plan.
- Managing the sales team both in terms of results and competencies to achieve the commercial objectives.
- Further developing a customer base and maintaining customer relationships.
- Managing and steering the Synaps product development projects from conceptual phase until market launch by closely cooperating with customers, R&D, Production and Sales
- Keeping up-to-date with market trends
- Ensuring the Synaps current and future product portfolio is in line with the customer needs.
- Launching products in line with business targets. You work out the product positioning, USP, branding – and marketing strategy.
Profile :
- You have a Master degree in Engineering with proven commercial/business interest (first sales experience or MBA) or you have a Master degree in Economics, Marketing with a strong background in material technology.
- You have 5 years of experience in a B2B environment within an international and multi-disciplinary context. Experience in the paper and print industry is a plus
- You can demonstrate successful experience in business development or management
- You are affiliated with customers and have a strong business sense.
- Experienced / knowledge of synthetic paper market is a strong asset.
- Commercial understanding of customer needs and able to translate these needs into an R&D environment.
- Customer- and business driven.
- You are an excellent people manager with a collaborative work style
- You are a result-oriented
- You have strong time management, planning and problem solving skills
- You take ownership
- You have excellent communication skills (oral, written).
- You are able to deal with change, you have a flexible mindset.
- You are eager to learn.
- You have good knowledge of English. Any other language is an asset.
- Willing to travel (up to 25%)
Location: Agfa HQ, Mortsel, Belgium.
