Experience And Education

Essential Qualifications/Experience:

  • Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with 4 years post-related experience. Or a secondary educational qualification with 6 years post-related experience
  • 3+ years’ experience with platform management in a large organization
  • Extensive experience of Web application support
  • Sound experience on deployment of security certificates, web site security, authentication mechanisms
  • Extensive server administration and troubleshooting experience
  • Relevant SQL, network and business continuity knowledge
  • Relevant experience with SharePoint, Oracle Web Logic, IIS Server, Apache Tomcat

Duties/Role

  • Web Hosting Administration

ü Enables web hosting platform to the customers to handle their websites and applications

ü Manages the setup, administration, management, and support of infrastructure required for the web hosting platform

ü Performs routine configuration, installation, and reconfiguration of web hosting platforms and related products

ü Investigates and enables the resolution of operational issues with ensuring the KPIs in respective SLAs are meet

ü Identify and investigates complex problems and issues and recommends corrective actions

ü Follows the procedures to achieve the approvals for implementing necessary changes and maintenance routines

ü Uses platform management tools to determine load and performance statistics and creates reports

ü Configures tools and/or creates scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of new and changed web hosting platforms

ü Maintains operational procedures and instructions, and ensures that they are executed following agreed standards

ü Provides reports and proposals for improvement, to specialists, users and managers

  • Systems installation and removal

ü Undertakes or supervises complex installations and deinstallations of systems or components, including handover to the client

ü Develops procedures and standards for installation and handover to maintain and improve the installation service

ü Schedules installation work around client priorities and resource availability

ü Ensures adherence to established safety and quality procedures

  • Server Operating Systems and Platforms

ü Compares and contrasts all major server systems and platforms

ü Describes multiple server operating systems and interoperability issues and considerations

ü Analyzes potential impact of new releases on existing and planned software products

ü Explains issues and considerations for modifying existing applications for server environment

ü Provides insights into advanced systems components, functions and facilities

  • SharePoint Servers

ü Instructs on the use of best practices of SharePoint technologies

ü Contributes to the design and architecture workshops for high availability, disaster recovery solutions

ü Participates in planning, implementation and risk management for upgrades

ü Implements interfaces to other platforms

ü Resolves problems for integration with 3rd party technologies and add-ons

ü Coaches others in all major SharePoint Server features and functions

ü Configures the topology for sharing services
