Your challenge

As a Data Science Consultant, you deliver data analytics and insights to help customers reach their strategic goals. You configure the OMP software and implement the solution at the customer. Think of a Data Science Consultant as a customer-oriented problem solver.

You Are Responsible For
  • Finding creative solutions for real-world problems. You sink your teeth into the customer’s problem and keep digging until the entire problem has been mapped and solved.
  • Performing data cleansing, data wrangling, and statistical analysis of time series data provided by OMP’s customers.
  • Visualizing your findings and presenting them to our customers in a way that a non-technical audience can understand.
  • Keeping an overview at all times, coordinating and collaborating with functional experts, advisors, software engineers, and the customer.
  • Providing support to users and internal data science and consulting teams.
  • Improving the OMP planning solution through research and development.
Your team

As our newest Data Science Consultant, you’ll be part of a global group of consultants and data scientists which, in turn, fits into the bigger picture of the Product Design team. Product Design drives our product road map, based on a strong future vision and deep technologic overview. This team makes the blueprints for our solution’s functionality and shares OMP’s vision and expertise with customers and colleagues alike.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who meets the following qualifications:
  • A master’s degree in statistics or another quantitative discipline with a strong focus on statistics - a PhD is an advantage
  • Preferably 3-5 years of relevant working experience
  • Practical experience with predictive modeling, time series analysis, and forecasting. You are familiar with techniques like multivariate linear regression, exponential smoothing, and ARIMA
  • A sound knowledge of scripting languages such as R and Python
  • A positive attitude even where data sets are small or data quality is poor - in fact, you see such issues as a challenge
  • The ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team in an atmosphere where giving constructive feedback is welcomed
Bonus Points If You Have
  • Basic knowledge of relational databases and SQL
  • The ability to apply advanced data science techniques as well as a deep understanding of the underlying mathematics and statistics
  • An affinity with data visualization tools and techniques
  • Some knowledge of machine learning and the Azure cloud platform
