The Business Area Global Power is one of the 5 Business Area’s within Tractebel ENGIE.

Within Global Power, the Offshore team handles with all offshore energy projects in Europe and abroad. Projects cover offshore wind, solar, hydrogen or other green gas production, electricity conversion and transportation and more general naval architecture and marine operations. In this regard, all phases of development, realisation and commissioning of projects can be tackled, either on a single unit scale as upto GW scale projects.

Within this Global Offshore team, the Offshore Renewables team in Belgium focusses on offshore renewables projects all over the world. With a complex working environment with many internal and external stakeholders but with a specific strength in innovative technologies like floating offshore wind or floating offshore solar, this product is particularly challenging and exciting. This booming (Floating) offshore renewables market is presenting one of the key strategic development markets for Tractebel.

Mission

As Offshore Renewables Manager you will be the hierarchic manager of all activities related to Offshore Wind and Solar projects within the wind team in Belgium. You will be N+1 to 10 to 15 engineers and project managers, follow-up the execution of the different projects, maintain good client relations and secure the further development of the project with a focus on quality and innovation.

Your responsibilities are:

  • You are hierarchic manager to the engineers and project managers in your team. You assure leadership including guidance, supervision, feedback and coaching.
  • You’ll manage your product’s human resources by planning necessary resources. You will identify needs of reinforcement and be responsible for new recruitment.
  • You prioritise the development of the competence and expertise of your team and coordinate the development of methodologies and tools in collaboration with the different experts. This will include continuous improvement and integration of return of experience.
  • You’ll assure the quality of the studies and services delivered by your team and guarantee the execution of an appropriate review.
  • You’ll manage the financial parameters including project’s performance optimization and respect of overhead budgets.
  • You’ll assure to maintain client satisfaction, especially of key clients and deal with eventual issues.
  • You contribute in the elaboration and implementation of a global offshore renewables strategy, building on recent references, team capability and complementarities with other teams in the Global Offshore Product.
  • You’ll contribute to the business development and the identification of new business opportunities. You boost global innovation, especially taking into account new enabling technologies like digital solutions, automatizations, drone applications etc.
  • You participate in Go / No Go decisions regarding new opportunities and are responsible for the technical part and overall pricing of the offers (in collaboration with sales responsible).
  • You’ll actively participate in the overall management of the Global Offshore team.
  • You ensure that all project and corporate procedures are correctly followed, especially regarding HSE.
  • You are open to take the role of project director, project manager or other roles within your perimeter of responsibilities.

Profile

  • You must have a master degree in engineering or equivalent and at least 10 years experience in an engineering environment.
  • Formal experience in team management is an asset.
  • Knowledge of and a professional network in the offshore (renewable) energy market and it’s current evolutions is a strong asset.
  • You have strong people management skills.
  • You have a positive, dynamic, collaborative and a problem solving attitude and able to create positive team spirit.
  • You have strong organizational skills and are a team player, at ease with challenging situations.
  • You are committed to meeting the deadlines, project constraints and you care for quality and safety of all those involved in our projects.
  • You are convinced about the strength of innovation and digitalisation. Formal experience in this field is a strong asset.
  • You have good customer handling and communication skills.
  • You are rigorous with respect to company expectations and guidelines for yourself as for your team members.
  • You are willing to provide guidance to your less experienced team members and transfer your expertise and know-how.
  • You must have good speaking, reading and writing skills in English. French, Dutch and German, as any other language, are strong assets.
  • You must be familiar with MS-Office software.
