Position Overview: The Desk Side Support Technician is responsible for providing on-site support to the Service Desk, coordinating activities with the Service Desk, and offering desktop support services. This role involves a variety of tasks including hardware and software installation, troubleshooting, system upgrades, and user support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate activities with the Service Desk and provide on-site support to the Service Desk.
  • Diagnose and remediate desktop system issues.
  • Provide hardware IMAC (Install, Move, Add, Change) services.
  • Diagnose and remediate hardware component issues.
  • Provide software application upgrade services.
  • Diagnose and remediate MS Office issues.
  • Install & configure operating systems.
  • Install & configure computer applications.
  • Enter computer assets into management application.
  • Relocate end-user hardware equipment as needed.
  • Reconnect end-user telephones sets as required during relocations or changes in setup.
  • Image new or existing desktops with all affected IT support groups involved in the process for seamless integration of new systems into existing environments.
  • Skills Required:

    • Strong knowledge of desktop systems
    • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues
    • Experience with operating system installations
    • Familiarity with MS Office troubleshooting
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
