About the Job:

Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) provides an integrated Strategic Effects framework, employing a multi-domain and multi-region focus to create a 360-degree approach, with the flexibility to enable, upon direction, a seamless transition from Baseline Activities and Current Operations (BACO) up to the Maximum Level of Effort (MLE). SHAPE supports the Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) in fulfilling his terms of reference, as directed by the North Atlantic Council.

The Information Environment Analyst – Middle East conducts analysis and assessment of the information environment pertaining to the Middle East, to include both terrorist group communications and the perceptions of NATO in the region.

Principal Duties

1. Provide NATO StratCom outputs on the several platforms and analyses digital media engagement data to develop an understanding across a wide range of digital media platforms, using that understanding to both create new ways to use existing platforms and expand the set of platforms used.

2. Publicize and analyses ACO social media efforts using quantitative and qualitative information, such as engagement data and measurements, developing reports for the CPAO and STRATCOM Director to best support NATO activities, missions, and issues of concern.

3. Responsible for ensuring that ACO content is appropriate for the audience and NATO messages.

4. Plans and creates engaging multimedia content using graphic design, photo and video editing software and techniques as required.

5. Engage with English and Arabic speaking audiences, receive, synchronize, and respond to new queries received on ACO social media platforms.

Essential Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in composing and developing social media campaigns and policies for relevant social media audiences and demographics.
  • Experience in providing, sharing and briefing senior leadership with analysis of the media as it pertains to the Middle East, including social media trends and emerging technologies.
  • At least 1 year of experience in compiling databases and social media analytic reports and skills in data analysis to select, interpret and evaluate statistics.
  • Possess excellent analytical and conceptual skills for planning impactful social media campaigns, with experience covering major events such as military exercises, product launches, or large-scale sporting events.
