DuPont’s Mobility & Materials (M&M) business is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer with a deep and practical understanding of the fundamental Electrical Engineering and instrument principles and a strong desire to apply those principles to advance the companies technology initiatives. This individual contributor role will provide technical expertise and hands-on support for engineering, capital projects and routine manufacturing operation support globally.

The M&M EMEA Engineering team provides support to all technology, R&D scale up and manufacturing sites in Europe. The team leverages both internal and external resources for the development of business evaluations, engineering analyses and technical guidance to the manufacturing technology and capital project teams.

Responsibilities

An E&I Engineer is to provide the following types of electrical expertise and Instrument expertise for our EMEA Capital projects / Manufacturing Sites

• Provide electrical and instrument project support for capital projects including initial equipment and system design (Front-End-Loading and Detail Engineering) through equipment startup and operation.
• Perform electrical system modeling including short-circuit current studies, coordination studies, arc flash studies, load flow studies, and motor starting studies using SKM PowerTools software.
• Provide routine electrical and instrumentation support for manufacturing and office locations. Support includes topics such as maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical power systems and instrumentation devices and loops.
• Provide electrical safety- and SIS (safety instrumented systems) support for Regional and site-based safety teams.
• Provide instrumentation and valve design by utilizing engineering design process and develop belonging instrument wiring diagrams
  

The candidate must have practical, working knowledge of the following types of electrical system equipment

• Low-, Medium-, and High voltage switchgears, power circuit breakers, protective relays, transformers, high resistance and low resistance grounding systems, medium- and low-voltage motor control centers, medium- and low-voltage motors and VSD (variable speed drive), and medium- and low-voltage cable. The voltage ranges for the listed equipment is from 230 Volts to 30.000 Volts.
  

The candidate must have practical, working knowledge of the following types of instrument system equipment

• Pressure- temperature- flow- and level elements, signal conditioning and processing equipment, valve types and their application, Safety instrumented systems, DCS and PLC systems and alarm Management systems
• The E&I Discipline Engineer must network with internal and external resources and cross-functional teams to achieve timely and appropriate solutions to business problems.
  

The E&I Discipline Engineer also has responsibility to assist in updating company standards for electrical power system equipment and instrumentation, assist in management of electrical power system modeling software and working with third-party engineering companies for capital project.

Key Skills And Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering.
• Several years of experience with working with electrical and instrument system equipment.
• Knowledge of related plant operational practices such as electrical hazard assessments, protection coordination, maintenance, PHA, LOPA, hazardous area assessments
• Knowledge and experience in application of codes, standards and regulations (IEC, EN, VDE)
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan, prioritize, and implement multiple concurrent projects or activities
• Demonstrated ability to be proactive, self-motivated, and able to function independent of supervision
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
• Ability to evaluate existing electrical and instrument installations and utilize engineering design processes to improve their safety, reliability, and maintenance needs
• Ability to plan and direct electrical personnel during startup of manufacturing facilities; coordinate electrical field activities to troubleshoot and correct.
• Expertise in electrical and instrument installation and equipment design and implementation.
• Experience user of SKM PowerTools software
• Ability to write codes and standards in a clear and consistent manner and influence others on the code making panels to adopt a supportive position.
• Able to clearly articulate problems with proposals (or current code language) in a manner that influences the code to benefit of DuPont and other similar industrial companies.
• Development and creation of Basic data package , discipline project cost control documents, scope of work, Material Take-Off, cost estimation input, equipment and labour specifications, labour specifications, time schedules, loop and wiring diagrams, single line diagrams.
• Reconciliation with other disciplines
• A clean driving License.
