About the Job

We are seeking amedior Embedded Linux Software Engineerto join our team on a short-term basis. As an Embedded Linux Software Engineer, you will be responsible for upgrading existing customized Linux kernels for custom boards, resolving network driver issues, integrating customized kernels into Buildroot, debugging network driver issues, and ensuring the correct operation of hardware interfaces.This position requires immediate availability and is open exclusively to Belgian residents only.

Responsibilities

  • Upgrade existing customized Linux kernels for custom boards.
  • Update kernel version in an image running on router hardware within the client’s projector.
  • Resolve network driver issues and ensure seamless network connectivity.
  • Integrate customized kernels into Buildroot for efficient system deployment.
  • Debug network driver issues to optimize performance and stability.
  • Perform custom board bring-up, including U-Boot configuration, device tree setup, and secure boot implementation.
  • Validate the correct operation of hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, PCIe, etc.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to team members as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience as an Embedded Linux Software Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in Linux kernel development and customization.
  • Strong understanding of Buildroot and its integration processes.
  • Experience with hardware interfaces such as SPI, I2C, PCIe, etc.
  • Solid programming skills in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with CMake is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Immediate availability and residency in Belgium are required.
  • Fluent English

Nice to Have:

  • Knowledge of C++ and CMake.
  • Experience with short-term project engagements.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing project requirements.
