Le poste

Industry 4.0 companies work together to develop smart and flexible production systems, in which industrial machine tools work together and are easy to (re)configure. In a high-tech assembly lab, dozens of machine tools will exchange information and work together in different modular work environments. It is your job to add new skills to such smart production systems and to demonstrate the possibilities of these new technologies. INTEGRATE REAL-TIME EMBEDDED SOFTWARE FOR PROTOTYPES OF ASSEMBLY WORK CELLS As an experienced or young talented Engineer Embedded Software you will: - Work together in a team of experts on the Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT), system design, software architecture, optimisation algorithms & robot programming; - Find solutions to automation challenges for interconnected industrial machines & robots; - Adding new context-adaptive control and other functionalities; - Taking the lead in realising embedded software. To develop an inspiring demonstration work cell, you will: - Put the team’s solutions to the test in terms of feasibility, robustness, adaptability and operator configurability; - Think ahead and creatively develop new scenarios when new challenges arise during a project; for example in sensor systems, industrial networks, Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT) protocols, data storage, new add-on modules, etc. - Programming real-time (distributed) control and monitoring systems integrating software with object-oriented software design methods (UML, C++, Python, Java, etc.) - Install the selected embedded platforms (industrial controllers, etc.), sensors, servers, carriers, etc. install; - Learn how to program new machine tools, new PLCs or robots, if necessary.

Profil recherché

You have: - Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Distributed Systems, Electronics-ICT, Computer Science or Electromechanics; - Experience in the use of industrial automation hardware/software; - In-depth knowledge of modelling and control of dynamic systems and/or experimental validation of embedded control systems; - Good programming skills for embedded and real-time machine software (UML, C, C++, Java, Python); - Good communication and presentation skills (in Dutch and/or English); - Affinity with different HW platforms/architectures such as DSP, GPU, microcontrollers, embedded systems and rapid prototyping systems, sensors, PLC programming and PCB design is a plus; - Skills in handling industrial tools such as treadmills, grippers, screws, presses... is a big advantage. You are: - Analytical; - Creative in finding new scenarios when the context changes; - Practical minded; - Eager to learn.
