In order to reinforce our internal Finance team within PwC, we are looking for an experienced General Ledger (GL) & Accounts Payable (AP) Team Lead.

Your impact

As a GL & AP Team Lead, you are responsible for overall management of the General Ledger and Accounts Payable team as well as managing our daily treasury. You work autonomously and interact closely with other finance members.

You will report directly to the Head of Accounting.

In your role as accountant, you are responsible for the following wide range of tasks:

• Daily cash management (including foreign currency transactions)

• Weekly cash flow reporting and support in cash flow forecasts.

• Contact with the banks with regards, but not limited to straight loans, bank guarantees, foreigh currency purchases, etc.

• Preparation and monitoring of specific payments, review of supplier ageings and of the payment runs.

• VAT Compliance: Preparation and filing of the Monitoring of monthly VAT declarations and reconciliations / other listings and sundry VAT matters

• Support to the Tax manager (compliance preparation and reporting)

• Participate in and support in the external financial audit process.

• Monthly closing operations (invoices to receive, bank reconciliation, clearing of AP accounts, etc.)

• Contact with the business and the suppliers.

• Follow up of GL accounts (clearing, reconciliation, etc.)

• Follow up of Fixed assets

In your role as Team Lead, you make an impact on your team by:

• Determining the weekly actions and priorities.

• You monitor the Accounts Payable Ageing.

• Support both the GL and AP team in the day-to-day business (if needed) and handle issues.

• Encourage teamwork and build positive working relationships with the team members.

• You set the team objectives and cooperate with others and the team to achieve them.

• You actively look for process improvements, maintain effectiveness and implement change.

• Demonstrate flexibility and take responsibility for getting things done; involve others as appropriate.

• Contribute to training new team members and determine their orientation and development.

About You

• You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accountancy/Finance;

• A minimum of 5-10 years of qualifying experience in an accounting (Belgian GAAP) or auditing function in a multinational environment.

• You are able to work independent; you have a good sense of responsibility and are stress resistant;

• Ambitious team player-mentality with a high level of motivation and a strong client oriented approach.

• A proactive and ‘can do’ mentality.

• Open for change.

• Very good MS Office Excel and SAP knowledge. Any knowledge of other specialised accounting programs or automation programs is highly appreciated;

• A strong and positive leadership attitude combined with the ability to provide direction.

• Fluent language skills in Dutch, French and English.
