Given the increase in Quality of Life (QoL) research in the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), we have an exciting position to offer as a Grant Management Officer (1 FTE).
The Grant Management Officer will be employed at the EORTC Headquarters (EORTC HQ) in Brussels, within the Quality of Life Department (QLD) and will be supervised by the Head of the QLD.
Main responsibilities / Major Activities
The EORTC Quality of Life Group (QLG) provides funding for QoL-related projects that fit within their portfolio (e.g., development of questionnaires, methodological projects, clinical trials with QoL primary endpoints).
- Supervise QLG-funded Research Projects; help and support the investigators that run them; and act as a link between the external and internal researchers and the EORTC HQ.
- Provide advice on the QoL grant application process and liaise with relevant parties, such as the legal and statistics department.
- Coordinate the EORTC QLG grant review process by following up on all the grants from submission to contract signing and liaising with all relevant entities.
- Develop, maintain, and provide guidance or standard templates for all grant-related activities.
- Summarise scientific documents and articles in a timely manner.
- Support relevant committees by preparing and contributing to scientific briefing documents.
- Undertake research with the aim of providing and analysing scientific information related to QoL in cancer research.
- Lead and support joint research projects of the QLG and the QLD. Lead and contribute to research presentations and publications.
Profile
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
- At least a master’s degree in psychology, health or social sciences, or outcome research; or an equivalent degree
- Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written
- Proficient in writing manuscripts and reports
- Knowledge and/or experience with Patients Reported Outcomes and QoL is a major asset.
- Proficient with statistical software. Knowledge of SAS is an asset.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills
- Motivated and with a strong sense of initiative and responsibility
- Able to work both independently and in a team
- Proficient with MS Office tools
