Responsibilities

• Provide support to the development teams of the European Commission on CIRCABC / CIRCABC Share
• Proof of Concept, prototyping of infrastructure solutions (architecture of the solutions) and provide guidance with any new technology/products
• Analysis of the requirements (UML necessary)
• Design, development, tests, documentation, release control, maintenance and technical support of infrastructure software components and services matching the specifications
• Provision of technical studies, technical expertise, technical evaluations in relation with the information systems infrastructure
• Production of technical documentation
• Assistance with deployment and configuration of the system
• Writing/maintenance of applications that reflect the specifications

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

• Bachelor’s Degree of 3 years

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Experience in Back end infrastructure and Information System Hosting
• Analysis and problem solving skills
• Up to date know-how in Internet web applications development
• Excellent knowledge and expertise in Java (JEE) application development;
• Excellent knowledge of Unix systems, Tomcat, Weblogic, MySQL, Oracle DB, Kubernetes, Docker
• Excellent knowledge on user interface technologies implementations (Angular 5+, GWT)
• Excellent knowledge of the following technologies: Spring Boot, JPA, Hibernate, Bootstrap, Git, Typescript, Javascript
• Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
• Very good communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Languages: Excellent oral and written English level. Excellent technical written skills. Additional European Languages would be an important asset.

Due to the particular nature of a large international organisation such as the European Commission, candidates should also have the following non-technical skills:

• Capability of integration in an international/multicultural environment, rapid self-starting capability and experience in working in team;
• Ability to participate in multilingual meetings
• Ability to work in multi-cultural environment, on multiple large projects;
• Excellent Team Player
• Ability to understand, speak and write in English B1 will be an advantage
• High degree of discretion and integrity is required as the applications managed and maintained in DIGIT B1 contain personal and confidential data

SPECIFIC EXPERTISE

• Excellent knowledge of Cloud based Infrastructure & Building blocks
• Excellent knowledge of CIRCABC and Alfresco Document repository services
• Excellent knowledge of Angular 5+, JEE, Weblogic and OracleDB
• Good experience in Office Automation
