About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Functional Analyst SAP ISU (Freelance) to join our client’s high-impact team for a 12-month project based in Melle. This is a freelance opportunity for a true builder — someone who thrives on translating complex business needs into robust SAP ISU solutions that drive the Belgian energy sector forward. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping, implementing, and optimizing SAP ISU systems, ensuring every solution is precise, scalable, and future-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and advise in workshops, leveraging deep SAP module knowledge to guide solution design and implementation.
• Analyze, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications for SAP ISU projects and maintenance assignments.
• Identify and communicate the risks and consequences of deviating from SAP standards during solution design discussions.
• Drive consolidation and migration initiatives, ensuring seamless transitions and minimal business disruption.
• Prepare and validate functional and technical analyses with ICT architects, designers, and business stakeholders.
• Document both existing (reverse engineering) and new functionalities to ensure knowledge continuity.
• Translate functional specifications into clear technical designs for development teams.
• Develop, execute, and support ICT and business acceptance test scenarios.
• Provide expert-level support for maintenance, bug fixing, and user support within SAP Univlam and SAP Ex-Infrax environments.
• Report directly to the internal team lead, ensuring transparent communication and alignment.
• Participate in Agile (Scrum) ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support occasional out-of-hours releases and sporadic travel to other locations as required.

Technical Skills & Experience

• Minimum 10 years of demonstrable experience as a Senior Functional Analyst in SAP ISU environments.
• Proven expertise in the Belgian energy market, with deep knowledge of switching and billing processes.
• Extensive experience with MIG6 and SAP ISU modules.
• Strong background in both functional and technical analysis, including reverse engineering and documentation.
• Hands-on experience with ABAP programming language.
• Proficiency in Agile (Scrum) project methodologies and ITIL processes.
• Solid understanding of UML and Enterprise Architect tools.
• Experience with XML and iDoc messaging for system integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare and execute comprehensive test scenarios.

Language Proficiency

• Fluency in Dutch at European CEFR level C2 is mandatory.

Other Requirements

• Freelance contract for 12 months, with a preferred start date of 01/10/2025 and end date of 30/09/2026.
• Part-time regime (80%), with 176 days allocated for the project.
• Teleworking is possible, subject to team lead approval; occasional on-site presence and out-of-hours work may be required for releases.
• Commitment to quality and price parity (50% quality - 50% price weighting).
• Extension possible for an additional 12 months.
