Intern at DS&CI

[3-6 months , Full time, Brussels]

Your role & work environment

We are looking for an intern who can help rebuild a view on competitive intelligence in the deposits and investments domain for retail and business banking. The project will allow the candidate to combine skills in coding, visualization and bring valuable actionable insights for senior management.

You will be part of the Source 1 squad within the Digital Sales and Customer Interaction Tribe. We are the central management reporting squad, responsible for providing not just numbers to senior management, but also to interpret the evolution of these numbers and provide actionable insights. We play a vital role in enabling the bank to operate in a data driven manner.

Your key responsibilities

You will be reimagining the current analytical view that exists for the competitive landscape for deposits and investments within ING Belgium.

Understanding the business needs:

  • Understand reports that currently exist, how they are used and interpreted
  • What is the need the current report serves and what gaps remain? In other words, what does business miss?

Rebuild the technical solution:

  • Rewrite the existing script in SAS to gather the needed input in an aligned, automated way from multiple sources
  • Rebuild the output visualization in Cognos in an intuitive, user friendly way

You love to challenge the status quo and are eager to propose creative solutions to problems.

As an intern you will also need:

  • Experience in coding, SQL and/or SAS are a plus
  • Good visualization skills, able to present data in a business relevant, precise manner where the visuals tell the story behind the numbers.
  • Working with PowerPoint (Thinkcell), expertize in Cognos is a big plus
  • Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to produce clear and concise presentations.
  • Good knowledge of English is a must, knowledge of Dutch/French is a plus
