IT Cloud System Engineer

Carrefour Belgium is looking forward to hiring an Cloud - System Engineer with relevant experience in PAAS / SAAS/ DAAS Solutions . Previous experience in retail, logistics, production or industry would be a big plus.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Cloud System Engineer to work with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based solutions. You will be responsible for deploying and debugging cloud stacks, educating teams on new cloud initiatives, and ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure.

To be successful as a Cloud Engineer, you should be able to identify the most optimal cloud-based solutions and maintain cloud infrastructures in accordance with best practices and company security policies. A top-notch Cloud System Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a team player.

As an Cloud System Engineer , you will be responsible for :

• Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure
• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Collaborating with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal cloud solutions.
• Modifying and improving existing systems.
• Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
• Designing, developing and deploying modular cloud-based systems.
• Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security.
• Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
• Provide 3rd level support
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Your Profile

• Master or bachelor degree, in IT is a plus
• Experience of min 5 years in a similar function
• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in GCP ( certified )
• Solid experience in Linux ( RHEL, CentOS)
• Experience in DB’s ( PostgreSQL / Cloud SQL )
• Experience with Nutanix is a plus
• Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., Powershell / VBS/ Bash/ Shell )
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
• You are analytical, conceptual and open minded
• Good team spirit is a must
• Languages: EN + FR/NL spoken and written
