The Trimble Transport and Logistics business unit, of which the operational and development teams are located in Leuven (Belgium), is looking for an IT Operations Systems Engineer to join our team in Leuven, Belgium.

A current project is to make our services more highly available, and transitioning more into a microservices architecture.

Responsibilities
  • Configuration, optimization, documentation and support of the infrastructure components of Trimble Transport & Logistics software products which are 100% hosted on AWS.
  • Design and build tools and frameworks that support deploying and managing our platforms
  • Design, build, and deliver cloud computing solutions, hosted services, and underlying software infrastructure.
  • Foster collaboration with software product development, architecture,and IT teams to ensure releases are delivered with repeatable and auditable processes.
  • Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability of our continuous integration environments.
  • This role includes on-call duties for second line operational incidents, which are accounted for of course (1 in 4 weeks).

Required Skills
  • 3-year degree or equivalent experience in a software/IT related field.
  • Professional in the English language
  • 2+ years experience with cloud-based provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and related DevOps technologies.
  • 1+ years experience with containers, AWS ECS, Kubernetes or similar
  • Experience SCM tools such as Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
  • Experience with configuration management or Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Ansible, Terraform …)
  • Experience with scripting and automated process management via scripting, such as Shell scripting and Python.
  • Experience in setting up and supporting a CI/CD pipeline
  • Experience with basic networking concepts like Routing, SNMP, Web Application Firewalls, Load Balancing, and VPNs, taking packet captures, analyzing traffic, …
