Location: Tubize, Belgium Thales people architect solutions at the heart of the defence-security continuum. Thales Belgium, which employs more than 230 collaborators, is specialized in the design, development and supply of critical information systems for customers in the sectors of Defense, Security (including Cyber), Transport and Aerospace.

For its activities, Thales Belgium SA (Tubize site) is looking for a:

Junior Embedded Software Engineer (F/M)

(EN + FR/NL)

Mission:

You will develop complex embedded software/solution (mainly Linux-based) for our customers in Defense, Security and Aerospace domains.

You will work on projects which can be very different in nature, usually with strong regulatory requirements (DO178/AS9115 standard for avionics, Common Criteria for security…)

Main Responsibilities:

  • You develop and unit test work packages in C/C++, in accordance with development process and high-level software specifications ;

  • You integrate your software with the target hardware using test means such as probes, analyzers, emulators…;

  • You participate in peer reviews ;

  • You participate, when needed, in higher-level testing (integration, verification, validation) ;

  • You manage your activities in accordance with the expected schedule, budget and quality (usually within Agile framework) ;

You will report to Thales Belgium’s Head of Software.

About you:

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Electronics or Software Engineering (0-3 years of experience);

  • You know software engineering fundamentals and best practices;

  • Previous experience in, or at least exposure to, embedded software development in C/C++;

  • Curious, eager to learn and develop yourself;

  • French and/or Dutch speaking. Professional proficiency in English.
