Junior engineer in infrastraucture security

OBJECTIVE OF THE REQUEST

The objective of the system administration service contract is to the provision of system administration tasks for the RTOP Communication and Information System (CIS) in compliance with the accreditation requirement.

To this end, DG HR-DS requires a specialist with a wide area of expertise that will be able to conduct the tasks described below.

The contractor will conduct its activity on the DG HR-DS.3 unit’s premises.

DESCRIPTION OF TASKS

Under the supervision of the RTOP project manager, the system administrator contractor will be asked to perform the (non-exhaustive) following tasks:

The contractor will therefore be required to keep updated all the documentation related to the tasks he/she will be assigned

Knowledge and skills

The contractor is required to have an in-depth knowledge, and ideally a 2-3 years professional experience, in the following domains in which the contractor will be required to provide its service:

• System administration of a windows-based CIS in production environment and with some thousands end-users deployment scope;
  (Experience/Knowledge on CISs handling classified information would an asset)
• In-depth knowledge of Windows-based information systems, in particular the deployment, the security and the operation of Active Directory, Windows Update Services.(Microsoft Windows certification in those fields would an asset)
• In-depth knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMWare, Hyper-V…) (Editor’s Certification in these technologies would an asset)
• Experience in the use and the deployment of certified/approved network security component like firewalls, virtual private network, IP encryptors….(Hands-on knowledge would be an asset)
• Knowledge and professional experience in system administration tasks on Unix family Operating Systems (x86 Linux, mainly Debian and RHEL);
• Knowledge and professional experience in implementing Cyber/Information Security measures covering some of the security fields: network security, end-point security, cryptography, operating system security, Public Key Infrastructure - X509 certificates;

Security Clearance

The contractor should have a valid security clearance for access to the SECRET UE/EU SECRET classified information or higher, or, to be under the application for such clearance. In case of rejection of granting such clearance, DG HR-DS reserves a right to immediately terminate the service contract and the contractor assignment at DG HR-DS.
