Job | Logistic Engineer | Ghent, Flanders, Belgium

Abylsen BELGIUM is currently looking for a Logistic Engineer in the Automotive sector.

Position

The Logistic Engineer will be part of the Plant Supply Chain Engineering team. The person is responsible to deliver lean flow oriented logistic solutions to in car and non-car programs, including continuous improvements. The focus is to establish best in class logistic solutions from end-to-end (supplier to point of use) in line with the strategy and vision layout.

The Logistic Engineer is authorized to plan and prioritize within own deliveries, but always according to overall priorities of the affected stakeholders.

Job description

  • Develop, prepare and implement quality assured logistic processes, flows, packaging and equipment, connected to new product programs and process changes within the plant;
  • Estimate, agree and follow-up cost; investment, manning, running cost, square meters etc.;
  • Layout work;
  • Perform feasibility and pre-studies;
  • Support material handling with continues improvements;
  • Responsible for the balances for material handling and drive manpower efficiency;
  • Work in close cooperation with other units like; Material Handling, Production, Plant Engineering, Material and Production Planning, Finance etc.

Profile

  • University degree;
  • Analytical, accurate and logical thinking mind;
  • You have a creative and positive approach to challenges and problem solving;
  • Holistic view on issues;
  • Interested in teamwork;
  • Affinity with logistic flows – lean thinking;
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office Pro (Excel, Access, Power Point);
  • Good communication skills and fluent in Dutch and English;
  • Be able to work with changing priorities.
