To strengthen our European Bimzelx Team, we are looking to fill the position of European Medical Operations Lead Rheumatology (PsA and AxSpA) for Bimzelx (bimekizumab)
As the Medical Operations Lead Rheumatology you like to work in an environment where you can:
Show Scientific Leadership: Strong leadership and influencing skills, the ability to provide and communicate the scientific strategy vision to external and internal audiences, co-ordinate and drive implementation of the cross functional and diverse medical work for bimekizumab in Europe.
Demonstrate market understanding and dynamics: Rheumatologists seek partnerships for holistic, durable management of SpA disease. Ability to demonstrate/educate to EU immune organisation what advances scientific understanding and acceptance of changes to standard of care will be essential for delivering high-impact medical strategies and solutions
Executing for Results: high entrepreneurial spirit; action / results driven and successful track record in translating scientific and medical goals into operational activities by creating and implementing patient-focused and innovative patient-driven solutions that engage patients and internal/external stakeholders to understand the patient’s disease journey and finds solutions to their need.
Building Relationships and Networking: Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal skills as well as strong ability to engage with people at all levels of the organization and the external world. Works collaboratively to ensure the highest healthcare principles and standards are upheld, safeguarding scientific integrity, while creating agile medical learning frameworks and programs to deliver results that maximize patient value.
As a European Medical Operations Lead Rheumatology you will contribute by;
Being accountable for all rheumatology medical solutions (projects and activities) developed and performed at EU level, and the rollout to the EU areas.
Contribute to collecting and providing bottom up European insights to inform global strategy and asset medical activity development in the Rheumatology Mission to ensure local needs are represented and served.
Contribute to Bimzelx EU 10-year plan, jointly with the rest of the region´s Bimzelx Team; to define 3 year priorities and annual medical objectives at EU level in close collaboration with the EU areas.
Lead adaption of global Bimzelx Immunology and Rheum strategy to ensure EU relevance by coordinating with EU colleagues to contribute to the medical section in the integrated Regional Patient Value Brand Plan.
Contribute to EU and areas launch planning and overall organizational readiness
Act as a reference scientific expert for EU Areas Medical and Access colleagues for clinical data assessments, scientific exchange on treatment guidelines, horizon scanning, HTA submissions.
Adapt global asset scientific and clinical data materials for EU Areas and ecosystems
Be a driver in UCB´s digital business transformation for E2E omnichannel medical activities.
Interested? For this position you´ll need the following education, experience and skills;
Background needs to be medical, i.e either medical stakeholder facing role, medical solutions or education function or clinical development o evidence generation experience. Ideally with either multi country experience or having worked at both individual country and regional/global level.
- Medical degree Medical Doctor (MD), or PhD in Natural Sciences or PharmD
- Bachelors’ degree in life sciences, healthcare
- Minimum 5 years in rheumatology therapeutic areas, preferably in stakeholder facing roles within healthcare. Recent Rheumatology expertise and experience from multiple biologics
and MoAs is an extra merit.
- Thorough understanding of the regulatory and compliance guidelines relevant to the pharmaceutical industry
- Demonstrated experience in working within multidisciplinary teams and proven cross functional project team’s leadership, experience of matrix organization across local and regional structures.
- Excellent communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings
International mindset is a must for the role. For location, proximity to Bruxelles, Belgium is preferable but not a must. Recruitment will be based on both internal and external search.
