If supplier performance isn’t tightly managed, even the most strategic infrastructure plans fall apart. As a French- or Dutch-speaking Contract & Supplier Manager, you probably know this better than anyone—because you’re the one who gets called when they did wrong.

Success of Engineering Projects mostly relies on key individuals demonstrating Intrapreneurial Leadership, and the best way to develop these skills is through hands-on consulting roles—working alongside established intrapreneurs in international companies, contributing to managing stakeholders’ engagement, workflows’ reliability, or solutions’ sustainability.

The scope, here, is to manage strategic supplier relationships and contracts for core electrical grid equipment within a major international energy infrastructure group.

The Key responsibilities expected from our consultant might include:

Support projects through high-quality, detail-oriented execution:
  • Contract administration and contract change management
  • Documentation and archiving
  • Guaranteeing the continuous improvement process via return of experience

Support projects with rational, data-driven assessments of cost, quality and timing:
  • Managing contract risks (including risk assessment and mitigation measures)
  • Monitoring contract performance and handling contract claims

Support projects by facilitating communication and reporting between stakeholders:
  • Ensuring proper execution of projects in line with the contractual framework
  • Acting as Key Account Manager for both suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Managing supplier relationships via regular status meetings and site visits
  • Providing support to internal stakeholders on supplier-related topics
  • Leading negotiations and reaching fair agreements in unforeseen situations
  • Creating win-win opportunities through proactive engagement
  • Ensuring effective reporting

The experience we are actively looking for:
  • Master’s degree in a technical-commercial field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract management, supplier relationship management, strategic procurement, or category management
  • Solid understanding of the industrial or energy sector
  • Assertive communicator, fluent in English (min. B2) and either French or Dutch (with good understanding of the other)
  • Autonomous, initiative-driven, and solution-oriented
  • Willingness to travel in Europe (occasional supplier visits)
  • Knowledge of SAP and energy market dynamics is a plus
  • Valid work and residence permits for Belgium (mandatory for non-EU candidates)
  • Immediate availability and presence in Belgium are preferred
