A Work Permit is required for this position.

We are looking for a passionate IT Software Engineer Lead to create and iterate on innovative digital solutions that have a real impact on patients and healthcare professionals. He/she will play a leading role in the full digital products lifecycle, from ideation and prototyping through development and implementation. He/she will be part of a growing and dynamic team based in our Belgium offices.

Ability to work in Agile or Waterfall methodology is mandatory.

BSc/BA degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline/experience.

Your profile:

• Leading, coaching and mentoring the near/offshore development team(s) in the design, development, coding, testing, deploying, maintaining, enhancement, and debugging of various custom applications;
• Contributing to the digital product shaping of different areas (Clinical, Talent, Marketing, Research, …) in a ‘digital studio experience’ in collaboration with the product team members (Shaping, prototyping, planning) – products;
• Providing software development advisory and mastery. Defining and contributing to the software quality standards, coding, and security best practices. Creating and maintaining reusable components. Safeguarding the code base quality by coaching the development team to adhere to those;
• Acting as a bridge between the development team and the other teams to ensure a deep understanding of the different user’s priorities, context, and experience;
• Collaborating with various IT colleagues (Cloud, Solution, Enterprise, and Security architects) to design and develop programs, products, and platforms end-to-end;
• Developing web and mobile applications backed by RESTful API’s for internal UCB users, patients and healthcare professionals;
• Analysing technology industry and market trends to assess their potential benefits for products and platforms resilience ambitions.

Experiences and Required Skills:

• Solid .NET Developer experience, of which 3+ years in an environment with complex business logic and cloud (native) architectures;
• Strong analytical aptitude and problem-solving skills resulting in high quality code;
• Experience with application security (e.g. triaging security findings, defining security requirements…);
• Proven ability to work in teams with excellent organizational, time and task management skills;
• Experience in continuous integration, continuous delivery and testing and other DevOps-related tools and practices;
• Experience in writing unit, integration, E2E and automated tests;
• Expert in .NET with experience in .NET Core 2.1+ (C#, Web API, LINQ, async/ await, etc.);
• Experience with cloud native architectures, RESTful API, and Microsoft Azure technologies, patterns, and best practices (Azure App Services, Azure AD B2C, API management, etc.);
• Experience with SCRUM methodology; VSTS/ Azure DevOps and Git;
• Experience remediating findings from security tests (e.g. penetration tests, vulnerability scans, static code analysis, bug bounty, etc.);
• Knowledge of web development (HTML, JavaScript/ TypeScript, CSS, XML, JSON);
• Knowledge of AngularJS and Angular 8+ with deep understanding of observables;
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Helm Chart

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent contract, Freelance

Salary: €31,968.67 - €75,138.98 per year
