The Consumer Goods & Industry Business Unit has many big clients who are active in E-Commerce, Home & Garden and DIY, among other things. In a permanent state of flux, these markets require continuous attention in terms of innovation and automation of the logistics flows.

In order to optimally serve these clients with state-of-the-art logistics platforms and to share best practices across all sites, Katoen Natie is looking for a Project Manager Warehouse Automation.

Jouw functie

Als Project Manager ben jij sleutelfiguurop vlak van automatisatieprojecten. Zowel voor bestaande als nieuwe operaties ga jij onderzoeken waar er geautomatiseerd en geoptimaliseerd kan worden rond processen, warehouse lay-out en systemen. Vanuit jouw expertise in automatisatie en zin voor innovatie hou je ervan om dingen in vraag te stellen en te zoeken naar hoe het nog beter kan.

Concreet houdt dit het volgende in:

• Je bent enerzijds verantwoordelijk voor het bestuderen van de huidige processen op vlak van winstgevendheid, effectiviteit en efficiëntie waarbij je vertrekt vanuit de bestaande operaties. Nauw contact met de Operations Manager en collega’s vanop de vloer is hierbij cruciaal.
• Anderzijds ga je voor de (potentieel) nieuwe operaties logistieke gegevens analyseren om de juiste geautomatiseerde oplossing te ontwerpen. Je stemt deze af op de eisen van de klant.
• Je maakt vanA-Z een voorstudie van de automatisatieprojecten: je initieert brainstorms, je voert data-analyse en Fit-Gap Procesanalyses uit met betrekking tot WMS functionaliteiten, je ontwerpt de processen in samenwerking met de engineering afdeling, je doet onderzoek naar leveranciers, stelt budgetten op en berekent de ROI.
• Je zorgt voor een vlotte overdracht naar het lokaal projectteam op de sites, dat verantwoordelijk zal zijn voor de implementatie van de automatisaties.
• Intern en extern stakeholdermanagement is een belangrijk onderdeel van jouw takenpakket. Je benadert de geschikte leveranciers, je brainstormt met zowel klanten als Key Account Managers en collega’s van engineering, en je weet de collega’s van de sites te enthousiasmeren over de optimalisaties.
• Je werkt vanuit HQ in Kallo maar gezien de sites verspreid liggen over meerdere Europese landen, heb je frequente internationale contacten. Reizen beperkt zich tot max 10%.

Function

As Project Manager, you are a key figure in terms of automation projects. You will investigate where processes, warehouse layouts and systems can be automated and optimised for both existing and new operations. Relying on your automation expertise and sense of innovation, you like to challenge and question things, always looking for ways to improve.

In practice, this entails the following:

• On the one hand, you are responsible for studying the current processes in terms ofprofitability, effectiveness and efficiency, with the existing operations as your starting point. Maintaining close contact with the Operations Manager and colleagues on the ground is crucial in this respect.
• On the other hand, you analyse logistical data for— potentially — new operationswith an eye on designing the right automated solution. You then tailor this solution to the customer’s requirements.
• You conduct a preliminary study of the automation projects from A to Z: you initiate brainstorms, perform data and Fit-Gap Process analyses with regard to WMS functionalities, design the processes in cooperation with the engineering department, research suppliers, draw up budgets and calculate the ROI.
• You ensure a smooth transfer to the local on-site project team, which will be responsible for implementing the automations.
• Internal and external stakeholder managementis an important part of your duties. You approach suitable suppliers, brainstorm with both customers and Key Account Managers and colleagues from engineering, and you know how to enthuse the on-site colleagues about the optimisations.
• You work from the HQ in Kallo, but with sites spread out across Europe, you will be having frequent international contacts, as well. Travelling is restricted to max 10%.

Jouw profiel

• Je hebt een 10-tal jaar relevante ervaring binnen automatisatie, bij voorkeur binnen logistiek en/of productie.
• Je beschikt over business acumen enstrategisch inzicht. Jespot snel optimalisatiemogelijkheden en vanuit jouw analytischeen probleemoplossende geest ben je getriggerd om deze verder te onderzoeken.
• Je bent een krak in het inspireren van anderenen het creëren van draagvlak. Je weet goed hoe je dingen aan de man kan brengen en anderen mee kan krijgen in je verhaal door middel van je background, kennis en juiste argumentatie.
• Anderen omschrijven jou als een hands–on persoondie werk ziet. Je houdt van voldoende vrijheid om ownership te kunnen nemen.
• Je hebt een passie voor alles wat te maken heeft met automatisatie en optimalisatie.
• Je spreekt vloeiend Engels. Kennis van andere talen is een grote plus.

• You possess about 10 years of relevant experience in automation, preferably within logistics and/or production.
• You have business acumen andstrategic insight.Quick to spot optimisation opportunities, your analytical and problem-solving mind triggers you into investigating them further.
• You are an inspirational genius with a knack for creating and drumming up support. Drawing on your background, expertise and accurate argumentation, you know how to present and promote concepts and ideas and get other people on board.
• Other people describe you as ahands-on personwho sees work. You like to have enough freedom to take ownership.
• You have a passion for anything to do with automation and optimisation.
• You are fluent in English. Knowledge of other languages is a big plus.
