The Purchasing Clerk is responsible for logging and releasing items in the storeroom area. This role will also file and process data in to the system database, provide general support to the purchasing department and maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of all storage areas.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Responsible for proper receiving, storing and issuing of all products and maintenance of general storerooms under the guidance of the direct supervisor.
  • Inspects and unpacks all merchandise received, and stocks/stores it.
  • Ensure that all invoices are properly accounted for at all times.
  • Assist management in keeping the storeroom properly organized.
  • Assist in annotating pricing and adjustments, if needed, in the end of the month inventory; also being aware of the importance of the first in/first out (F.I.F.O.) rotation.
  • Assist with end-of-month inventories.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of storerooms and designated workstations.
  • Maintain a list for out of stock/goods not received "items" so that follow-up can be made.
  • Verify that no requisitions are left open (all requisitions should be completed and closed out).
  • Additional projects and responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

Specific Experience We’re Seeking

  • Previous experience in same or similar role.
  • Must have understanding of purchasing/receiving clerk daily processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer systems such as Excel and Word.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule, must be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
