The Quality Assurance and Control Engineer will be focused on ensuring consistency and quality of all GPE Project Deliverables. They will be responsible for auditing consistency of approach to engineering processes, identifying failure modes, route cause and tracking corrective actions. They will establish processes for measuring leading and lagging indicators for engineering quality KPIs as well as provide feedback and measurement data regarding the GPE Performance against these metrics.Being quality and process focused, the QA/C Engineer will be responsible for conducting regular audits of engineering deliverables across the GPE Portfolio and Amazon projects, ensuring findings are recorded and corrective actions are concluded in a timely and appropriate way. Being well-organized, methodical, and professional with the experience necessary to perform inspection activities, and document inspection results in a timely manner. They will provide support and direction to the engineering teams to correctly define and capture standards and processes as well as supporting to determine root cause and corrective actions. The auditing function will be globally organized and focused, targeting specific processes or deliverables. The resulting data will be delivered to the GPE organization and Quality teams for visibility of metrics and further corrective actions. A truly multi-disciplinary engineering role, the QA/C Engineer will be responsible for ensuring consistency of application of processes, standards, and solutions to meet the customer requirements across multiple disciplines and projects.
Working as part of the Performance excellence team, the QA/C Engineer will play a vital part in the development of the engineering processes, ensuring consistency and adherence across the teams and advising of improvement activities. The QA/C engineering will need to provide evidence of measurement of effectiveness against GPE KPI’s and overall improvement of performance of GPE. The success of this function will be measured through the evidenced improvement to the quality of engineering deliverables, achievement of right first-time targets, and reduction of rework resulting in cost savings, reduction of NCC’s (Non Conformance Costs) or improvement of project margin.What we offer:

Tasks and Qualifications:
Core Accountabilities:
- Audit adherence to the application engineering process
- Performs audits and inspections of technical engineered content
- Document audit and inspection results
- Receives direction for projects and tasks to audit
- Guide multidisciplinary teams in best practice for definition of standards and checklists
- Capture lessons learned and facilitate corrective actions
- Proactively assess performance using network, experience, data, and tools to identify inconsistencies and opportunities for improvements
- Audit deliverables to ensure best practice is followed and checklists completed
- Manage a scoring procedure, so quality can be monitored to ensure improvements achieved
- Engage with GPE teams to support and coach teams and members to deliver Lean improvements and Green Belt projects
- Support GPE teams to ensure consistency of approach and alignment to Global engineering processes ensuring all process are mapped to the appropriate level
- Support the process excellence team to provide training and support for new processes
- Enables, Fosters, Mentors, and Develops capabilities and experience in others, by applying process innovation, process excellence, lean six sigma principles, statistical tools, and change management practices.
- Innovates by continuously enhancing and improving existing policies, products, processes, and methods
- Demonstrate an understanding of industry-standard software Quality Assurance methodologies, tools, and processes
- Review audit findings and analyse data collected to identify potential improvement opportunities and determine root causes
- Possess knowledge of Engineering deliverables across Mechanical, Control’s software and hardware engineering
- Essential: Bachelor’s Degree level qualified
- Preferred: Previous Mechanical or Controls Engineering Experience, Materials Handling or Manufacturing experience
- Experience in a similar role is desirable.
- 5+ years’ experience
- Analysis of performance metrics
- Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools
- Professional certification, such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, or Quality Auditor
- Application of Engineering processes for material handling systems
- ISO 9001
- Travel approx. 20% - To visit existing project site and other Dematic offices
- Excellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills at all levels
