Client Description
Our client is a division of a leading international company in the field of sustainable mobility. The company has a global industrial and R&D network, employing 2500 engineers working on transformative innovation projects. They’re looking for R&D Technicians.
The New Energies division focuses on R&D and manufacturing of fuel cell technology and hydrogen gas storage systems for car, bus, truck and train transport.
The core development, engineering and testing activities in the field of composite pressure vessels – for hydrogen storage – are moving from Zonhoven to a brand new facility in Genk (Belgium), suitable for accomodating the rapidly growing team.

Function
As R&D Technician you’re part of the multidisciplinary and highly skilled team based in Genk. You prepare and execute activities related to the prototyping and/or testing, tuning, evaluation and validation of high pressure systems/products in R&D projects.
- You prepare and execute prototype manufacturing activities or you conduct specific technical trials in the pressure test laboratory.
- You analyze trial/test data and highlight potential anomalies. You write test reports.
- You ensure smooth and safe (LOTO) operation of the test benches and related technical equipment.
- You propose improvements, execute calibrations, manage maintenance planning and ensure quality documentation regarding the testing equipment.
- You consistently increase your technical knowledge by following trainings and by showing scientific curiosity about topics related to the New Energies business.
- You contribute to the further development of an excellent team spirit!
Profile
- You have a bachelor’s degree, preferably in mechanics, electromechanics, automotive technology, chemical engineering, mechatronics... or you’ve reached an equivalent level through relevant experience.
- Decent understanding of electricity, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics and P&ID’s.
- Experience with data acquisition and LabVIEW is a plus.
- You work smoothly in a team and you always care about safety procedures.
- You’re curious and willing to learn and evolve.
- Good knowledge of English (spoken and written) is required.
