Job Description

We are currently looking for a R&D Bioprocess Engineer whose assignment consists in setting up and running our bioprocess capabilities This entails establishing, running and maintaining small scale R&D bioreactors, performing hands-on development and testing of biomaterials, carrying out analytical tests to control the establish bioprocesses, as well as test novel integrated microsensors developed. Good experience with current process analytical technologies and a good understanding of process optimization is highly desirable

The assignment

  • Establish small scale bioprocesses, i.e. from hardware selection and acquisition to the establishment and control of model culture(s).
  • Perform hands-on experiments and characterization of the selected materials.
  • Guide the development of novel process analytical technologies under development.
  • Support the testing of new technologies with research scientists and the engineers.

Candidate Description

  • We are looking for someone with a background in bioprocess development.
  • You have hands-on experience in setting up small scale, R&D bioprocess capabilities, model cultures, and their optimization and characterization.
  • You have experience with traditional and state-of-the-art process analytical technologies, feedback process control and optimization as well as downstream
  • processing techniques.
  • Ideally, you also have previous exposure to biosensors development and testing.
  • You are a self-motivated team player with good communication skills, yet also able to independently solve complex problems with limited supervision.
  • We appreciate open minded candidates with a multi-disciplinary attitude.
  • Given our international character, good knowledge of (spoken and written) English is a must.
