We have a great opportunity for a Regional Process Automation Engineer/leader !
Ideally located in our site of Soignies (B), he/she could be located in one of our major sites in Europe (Luxembourg, France, Germany,...).
The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Process Automation (“PA”), and at the same time a generalist able to independently manage Automation projects. A key role for this function is to overall coordinate all PA related matters in the EU region for the LGM Business, wrt to setting standards, best practices sharing, PA asset life management, etc. This person will optimize and modify automation controls of manufacturing assets, facilities etc, in standalone projects or participate as a team member in cross functional project teams.She/he will search for and provide technical innovations in the Process Automation field, working in teams including ao. Operations, EHS, Quality and Supply Chain, staying closely connected with the teams of Manufacturing for the Future (M4F).
The key responsibilities are the following:
Complete understanding and wide application of Process Automation disciplines (eg. Siemens, Rockwell, ….), both on Hardware and Software aspects. General knowledge of other related technical disciplines.Provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.
Work under only general direction. Independently determine and develop an approach to solutions.
Build project plans, defining Projects’ Scope, Budget and Timeline on large scale Automation projects.
Manage the “Approval For Expenditure” process for assigned projects.
Frequent inter-organizational and outside supplier contacts.
Work together with the local PA teams of the sites in
Setting standards for PA systems and architectures (Drives/Scada/HMI, etc)
Sharing BestPractices
Managing the overall PA asset base in the region and build plans to keep that up to date and to current standards.
Be a strong partner in the Manufacturing For the Future (M4F) project in building the asset automation foundations to allow the project in Digitalisation/Automation/IoT, etc. to be fully implementable.
Work together with the sites to improve on the Maintainability of manufacturing asset and define and implement projects to improve on the Assets Reliability.
Under the leadership of the Process Department develop and Implement projects to improve on the Assets productivity & quality.
This position will require frequent travelling (± 50%) within the EU region
8+ Years engineering, scientific or related experience with Bachelor’s Degree.6+ years with Masters Degree.
Demonstrate working knowledge/experience in process automation, both with Rockwell and Siemens.
PLC’s: Rockwell Automation Control Logix & PLC5, Siemens S5-S7,
Drives: RA, AB, Siemens, HMI software RSView, Factory Link,
Understanding of applicable computer systems, such as Microsoft Office, Google Apps and function specific software.
Having a strong Affinity with the Digital World, Industry 4.0, etc.
Strong math and analytical skills.
Strong organization and attention to detail.
Strong scientific and engineering knowledge in specialty.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Ability to interface effectively with cross-functional groups to define and execute overall requirements.
Knowledgeable on process automation documentation (hard & software)
