As a Robotics Engineer at Smart Technics, you’ll have the unique opportunity to shape the future of the Colruyt Group while staying up to date with the latest robotics advancements. As the internal expert and point of contact for robotics, you’ll develop our digital and innovative projects.

Your responsibilities include:

• Participate in daily activities related to the design, development and testing of robotic applications related to picking and stacking in high-speed tasks such as picking, sorting and packing
• Creating or integrating new computer vision-based robot applications using AI and camera technology for accurate object detection and manipulation
• Writing reusable, testable, and efficient code and maintaining high-quality coding standards to enhance system reliability
• Staying updated on the latest innovations in robotics and engaging with the robotics community to remain up-to-date.
• Fitting into our team culture that embraces state-of-the-art tools and development workflows, ensuring high-quality code.

You’ll be based in Haasrode or Halle, with the flexibility to work from home or one of our regional offices (Mechelen, Haasrode, Merelbeke, Zwijnaarde) 1 to 2 days per week.

Profile

• Education and Experience – You hold a master’s degree with a strong mathematical background. Additionally, you have experience in Python and C++ development. Experience with Path Planning algorithms, AI, and/or numerical optimization is a significant advantage.
• Analytical Skills – You can process a variety of information and tasks quickly without losing sight of the big picture.
• Problem-Solving Ability – You approach challenges with a solution-oriented mindset and remain calm when issues arise. Problems are opportunities for improvement in your eyes!
• Flexibility – You’ll have a full-time contract with flexible office hours, but you’re comfortable occasionally working longer hours when necessary.

• Language Proficiency – You communicate fluently in English for effective collaboration with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders.
