Senior - Computer Vision developer

Your team The brand new team that you will reinforce is growing fast and consists of a mechatronics developer, a prototype engineer, a product manager and a project manager. All the colleagues have the same passion for their profession as you have for yours. You will report to the Global Solutions Development manager. You will be mostly working from our office in (Brussel/Leuven), but will also often be at our office in Delft. We change all the time as an organisation and as a team. You will be working closely together with a mechatronics developer and colleagues from the ABB Corporate Research Centre in the Unites States. Your responsibilities

  • Devising, calculating and stimulating robot kinematics for consumer applications.
  • Developing prototypes in close collaboration with the mechatronics developer.
  • Keeping up with, adopting and integrating new technological developments.

Your background

  • You are someone who combines his/her academic knowledge in the field of Computer Vision engineering with a true pioneer’s spirit. You like to think out-of-the-box and find pleasure in continuously looking for improvements and finding new solutions. You do this with the necessary perseverance and a pragmatic approach. When plan A doesn’t work, you always have a plan B, C and D. Add to that a truck load of curiosity and creativity and you have everything it takes to make this position a success.
  • Especially if you also have:
  • Completed a research-oriented higher education (Dutch: WO) in Vision, Computer Science or Mathematics.
  • Vision experience in the field of robot kinematics, such as:
  • o Carrying out calculations and simulations.
  • o Recognising and detecting fixed features.
  • o Calculating and realising 6 degrees of Freedom (6DoF).
  • Linux experience and full-stack development experience, including knowledge of Python.
  • Experience with Deep Learning, preferably in the field of PyTorch.
  • Knowledge of UX experience for the development of consumer solutions.
