Description

The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer is responsible for:

• The engineering of new packaging or changes to the current packaging of our drug products.
• The realization of the validation of our new and legacy packaging systems.
• The realization of process technology transfer projects related to the packaging of new products.

He/she can handle complex topics as an expert within his/her domain of expertise.

Main responsibilities:

Responsible for the engineering of new packaging or changes to the current packaging of our drug products:

• The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer is responsible for the development, improvement, and implementation of new and existing packaging materials. He/she is also responsible for the maintenance of the GMP-critical packaging specifications documentation

Responsible for the realization of the validation of our legacy packaging systems

• The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer is responsible for the validation of the legacy packaging systems. He/she must organize the tasks in such way that this approved validation plan can be achieved

Responsible for the realization of the packaging related projects

• The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer must act as a team member in improvement projects around primary and secondary packaging materials for our products and is the primary contact person concerning packaging materials for the Production, Engineering, Artwork Development, Quality, and the Purchasing department. He/she maintains contacts with the different packaging materials suppliers to follow-up the technical evolution in this area.

Responsible for the realization of the validation of changes of our current packaging

• The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer is responsible and specialized in Packaging Systems Validation. He/she will be responsible for validation activities around primary and secondary packaging. He/she will be responsible for the creation of all validation tests related to his/her assigned projects. He/she will be responsible for the creation of a summary report as an end/conclusion phase of his/her projects.
• The Senior Packaging Validation Engineer must learn about the actual validation systems outside the domain of Packaging Systems Validation. He/she must be able to act as a team leader and specialist of Packaging System Validation in greater packaging-related projects

If the tasks of the function owner are not executed with the necessary accuracy and correctness this can lead to observations during internal and/or external quality audits. In the end, such remarks can possibly lead to a product recall from the market.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent through relevant experience.

She/he is fluent in English and has strong communication skills with external and internal stakeholders. Dutch is a plus.

The candidate may come from food sector or packaging sector but must be open to the GMP for pharmaceuticals.

He/she should be very structured and organized as many cases run simultaneously and require a good follow-up.

The position is in day shift and requires someone who can work full time. Occasionally, when a project is tested for example in the early shift, working in shifts is possible.

The candidate will spend 10% of his/her time in production and working from home is possible maximum 40% of the time.
