Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Senior Scientist (Injectable Drug Product Process Development) who is autonomous, collaborative, and results-oriented to join our Drug Product Process Development team, based at our UCB campus in Braine-l’Alleud, Belgium.

About The Role

You will play a key role as a technical expert in establishing robust injectable drug product manufacturing processes, from toxicology studies to BLA approval. You will define and select manufacturing processes and components to support clinical manufacturing and transfer knowledge to the lifecycle management team for commercial manufacturing.

Who You Will Work With

You will collaborate closely with the External Clinical Manufacturing Operations Team and/or the Internal Manufacturing and Clinical Manufacturing Process Engineering Team to establish drug product processes and manufacture stability and clinical batches.

What You Will Do

  • You will capture and analyze critical manufacturing process data for process understanding and characterization.
  • You will be responsible for performing process risk assessments.
  • You will design processes for various formulations (liquid, lyophilized, spray-dried, etc.).
  • You will support the timely manufacture of stability and clinical batches.
  • You will ensure products are manufactured in accordance with UCB quality systems, cGMP, and regulatory requirements.
  • You will contribute to regulatory submissions and respond to questions from authorities.

For this role, we are looking for the following education, experience, and skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in pharmaceutical sciences or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in sterile liquid drug product development and/or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of liquid drug product development and cGMP manufacturing under aseptic conditions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and projects.
