Developing and maintaining Java applications that are linked to the product info of our brands. That’s a job for a real Software Engineer that loves to learn and makes a difference for customers and partners. Are you ready to take on this challenging role in our team?

As a Software Engineer, you will join the Service Centre Product of Colruyt Group, ateam of around 35 experts, including IT architects, analysts and developers.

Together, you will use smart IT tools to analyse product and article informationof our suppliers and spread it within the organisation, so that everyone can work easily with that data. Think of our co-workers in the store who carry a smartphone to quickly look up information on a product.

Your task package as a Software Engineer:

• Your main task is to develop and maintain applications that are linked to our product information. You will do this with the help of industry standard technology. For front-end development we go all out for Angular, for back-end development we opt for Java EE (JPA Hibernate, EJB, REST) and other future-oriented tooling.
• And it doesn’t stop there: with your team, you support the entire life cycle of the applications: you will build, test, de-bug and optimise. Thanks to you, users can get the most out of the applications.
• You delve into the integrations between applications with other platforms or packages. You competently translate these results and solutions into production.
• When the general helpdesk cannot solve an incident, that’s when you will be called upon. You analyse what went wrong, propose a solution and follow up.

You will work in Halle and 2 or 3 days a week, you can work from home or at one of our regional offices (Mechelen, Haasrode, Merelbeke, Deinze, etc.).

Profile:

• Knowledge and experience – You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in IT and have three to five years of work experience with Java programming. Moreover, you have knowledge of Java EE and you feel like learning about Angular, Docker and Spring Boot.
• Analytical and problem-solving capability - You don’t get lost in details and have a view of the bigger picture. Finding appropriate solutions is your second nature.
• Communicative skills - You can clearly articulate bottlenecks or solutions. You communicate positively and efficiently with all stakeholders.
• Initiative - When you have questions, you start looking for answers by yourself. You like to test your ideas with your colleagues, in order to turn them into concrete actions.
• Languages - You communicate fluently in English, so that you are able to collaborate well with all your colleagues, partners and stakeholders. Knowledge of Dutch and/or French is a plus.
