We are looking for someone who, as an ambitious and driven IT specialist, would like to further develop his career, to join our team as ’Software Engineer’ focused on MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) software for the further optimization of the complex chemical production processes within Agfa.As Software Engineer, you are involved from A to Z and responsible for a number of IT applications developed within and for Agfa’s production environment. Together with the client and the competence centers of ICS you translate the technical and functional questions of the client/end users into SW developments which you implement within time and budget and maintain after implementation.As a Software Engineer You Are Responsible For
  • Developing software concepts based on new ’Industry 4.0’ technologies (Smart systems, Micro services, Mobile ...) for the applications used within the production environment.
  • Implementing MES projects within time and budget. Hereby you are responsible for drafting functional/technical descriptions, developing SW using IT tools (.net, Oracle), testing, acceptance and implementation.
  • Maintain & further develop the IT applications, according to the agreements made.
  • Analyzing the new and existing production processes, performing risk analyses in cooperation with the (internal) client.
  • Defining and tuning IT support, this in order to guarantee optimal use of the new processes.
  • You have a master’s degree in engineering/informatics or equivalent through experience.
  • Several years of experience in project management or a similar environment is an advantage, not a must.
  • You have an interest in deploying new IT technologies.
  • Knowledge of DCS, PLC and SCADA systems is a plus.
  • You have an interest in automating/informatizing industrial production processes and are willing to master the specific systems and processes within the Agfa environment.
  • Experience in using IT development tools, e.g. Visual Studio and knowledge of C#.NET and Oracle is a plus.
  • You have strong analytical thinking skills.
  • You are strong in communication and driven by results.
  • You are flexible and have a strong sense of responsibility.
  • You speak Dutch and English
