Welcome to BASF Antwerp, the second largest production site of the BASF group, and the largest chemical company in Belgium. We are looking for a Teamlead supply chain management who wants to be part of our fascinating company.

Your challenge

As teamlead, you are responsible for supply chain management of several business units on the site of BASF Antwerp. You are accountable to the regional and global supply chain heads of these BUs.

  • Together with your team of product planners, you are responsible for day-to-day customer order management, production planning and the inventory management of raw materials and finished products.
  • You optimize the supply chain for several product groups. The customers’ expectations play a central role, where KPIs and handling supply chain complaints are important.
  • Your main stakeholders on site are the production plants of your product groups, the transport planning services, site logistics operations and external logistic service providers for storage, filling and shipping. You are the point of contact for internal and external relations of your product groups.
  • You build in-depth knowledge of the supply chain processes, product flows and the logistics infrastructure to define & implement optimizations and to translate these into clear operational processes and working agreements.
  • When the BASF group or the site launches projects within the team, you convert these and anchor the knowledge to your colleagues to secure continuous development.
  • In addition to staff responsibility, you control the budget and monitor the logistics costs of your supply chains.
Your profile
  • As a master in Applied Economic Sciences, a commercial engineering or similar, you gained about 5 years of experience in supply chain processes and logistics. You preferably have mangerial experience.
  • You are analytical, enterprising and customer orientated. You always keep an eye open for optimizations, where you will include the different stakeholders to make the supply chain more efficiently.
  • Developing people gives you great satisfaction. You succeed in letting your team collaborate and exchange experiences in order to pursue the common goal of an optimal supply chain.
  • You have good communication skills. You speak fluent Dutch and English, which will help you during an occasional business trip (mostly to Ludwigshafen and Lemförde in Germany). If you have German language skills, this is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAP processes and OMP is an advantage
