Job Description
Currently, we are looking for a Technical Support Engineer in Liège, Belgiumto be part of our global team working together towards our mission – to bring meaningful moments to people in connected public spaces.
Special projects area where you will be involved, is newly defined to strengthen the link between R&D and operations; the challenge to get all activities defined and explored in this new area will create new insights and thus new opportunities.
As our Technical Support Engineer, you will be in charge of continuous improvement : design, cost, assembling efficiency, supply challenges on lighting systems.
This position will give you a large scope of challenges, while interacting with all disciplines in the organization.
What you will do :
Special Projects Assignment content on 5 main areas:
- End to End digital maturity on Asset Data Management:
- Securing every connected outdoor lighting solution is provided with robust asset data
- Daily tracking and tracing of asset data uploads to Schreder EXEDRA platform
- In close collaboration with all Schreder plants and subcontractorsCost saving and productivity:
- Continuously analysis to cost saving opportunities
- Brainstorming to new ideas,
- Prioritizing by business case
- Execution and validation of cost saving topics till implementation in Schreder Manufacturing plants
- Customer excellence by tackling field complaints on driver topics:
- Driver problem solving related to connected lighting solutions
- Analysing customer issues on driver functionality and performance in the connection with smart control devices
- And securing containment actions short term, + implementing robust solutions to enable customer excellence
- Large tender support:
- Supporting our commercial entities with competitive offers for large volume contracts
- Best competitive offers, on technical and financial parameters
- Collaborating with all commercial entities worldwide
- Continuous support to Schreder plants
- Searching for alternative components in case of lead time issues to the end customer
- Searching for solutions for obsolete materials (is also cost saving topic)
Qualifications

Skills Requested
- Master or Bachelor in engineering level; or industrial engineer or relevant field
- 3-5 years experience in a technical engineering role
- High level of technical expertise in electro-mechanical field (not being the expert),
- Cost engineering and value engineering capability
- Languages : English (C1)
- Analytical skills
- Problem solver, solution minded
- System acknowledgement
- Communication skills for interaction with a lot of departments
- Open mindset for improvements; always open to find new ways of designs, costing, assembling
- Pragmatical approach;
- Out of the box thinking
- Agility / speed of decision making
