UCB is seeking for a passionate and driven graduate to join the Graduate Development Program (GPD) in Procurement.The GDP aims to develop the academic knowledge of graduates through a practicallearning journey within different units of UCB Procurement, which enables them to make an impact in the business.
You will have the opportunity to gain experience within our international, dynamic and passionate Procurement Team for about 24 months.The position is based in UCB’s headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
We focus on building a program where graduates can work in collaboration with diverse teams inside the Procurement organization. Through your journey, you will be exposed to the richness and diversity of the function’s challenges.
Your learning experience will be enhanced by a set of unique and customized formal trainings but also access to an international network of peers inside Procurement and within the UCB Graduate Community.
With this program you will acquire a broad range of professional experience and skills in Procurement, including but not exhaustive: project management, negotiation, stakeholder’s engagement, e-procurement tools, contract management, process management and continuous improvement, risk…

Two graduate journeys are never the same… and this one is an exciting one! There’s a lot more to it, but to get started, this is what is expecting from you by the time you join us:
The Procurement department is divided in two main activities:
- Leveraging our supplier’s ecosystem, you will support the business to find the best solution (service, material, product…) to their challenges, balancing cost, quality and delivery time
- Materializing our extended procurement value offering (analytics, sustainability, e-tools, market intelligence, project management…) you will contribute to maximize the current impact of our Procurement teams, while preparing the future of the function
Our Procurement organization is spread we’re spread around the worlds with key locations in Belgium, US and China. Even if you are based in Brussels, you will have the opportunity to interact virtually with the entire world!
The team is managing a large scope of spend: raw materials, packaging, equipment, supply-chain, facilities and real-estate, strategic consulting, marketing & communication, software and hardware, travel… This middle-size organization (80 people) will then enable you to be exposed to many activities across UCB business and interact with a variety of stakeholders (engineers, scientists, marketing, doctors, digital experts…)
Ideally, this is what your background (and skills and competencies) look like. However, in line with our DE&I ambition and in order to build a diversified workforce with fresh perspectives and complementary talents, following competencies are bonus points to make you the right candidate for this job:
- Recently graduated from a healthcare, digital, analytics, engineering, marketing, procurement, business, design or related field.
- Previous experience in direct and/or indirect Procurement in a pharma environment is a plus.
- Possess good understanding of lean thinking and agile mindset and principles.
- Easiness to communicate and convey the proper message to the audience
- Attracted by complex problem solving to see relationships between unstructured insights in order to craft solution to problems
- Possess critical thinking mindset to turn data into insightful interpretation
Of course, excellent command of English is a must. Notion of French is a plus.
It would be great if you can also demonstrate competencies such as: Negotiation, Emotional intelligence, Tech Savviness, data analytical skills, Adaptable Mindset, Team Player, Self-starter, Solution-oriented, Proactive Learner and of course, customer oriented.
