Our International Organization department is looking for an Infrastructure Project Manager Architect for one of its key client. International Organization is a consultancy department, focused on EU institutions (Parliament, DGS, Council, etc.), and is part of Westpole Benelux.

The consultant delivering this service will contribute in

Participating to the evolution of the client IT Network Infrastructure as a technical expert
Support the projects related to networking and network security, with availability and continuity as first operational priorities
Contribute to the design of networking and security services and components, encouraging re-use and ensuring that the system design fulfils the requirements, in particular IT technical requirements (volume, scalability, confidentiality, integrity)
Participate to the drafting or review of proposals for IT architecture governance and organisational evolution, aiming at improving the service delivery and to streamline technical activities
Review, investigate and recommend IT solutions (including cost/benefit analysis, assessment of implementation’s duration); contributes/evaluates technical solutions proposed by the client’s contractors
Ensure that infrastructure requirements expressed by the development contractors are in line with the standards of client and/or DIGIT
Acting as the backup to the Program Manager (Client’s official) or being the backup of the main PM, going beyond the technical expert role
Manage technical projects; enforce the delivery of the project(s) according to the agreed schedule, with the expected quality and with the resources provided
Set up and enforce the respect of organisation, procedures and project office tasks, raising warnings in case of non-respect of these
Guarantee the coordination of client’s contractors that shall implement the infrastructure requirements according to the networking project planning and needs
Ensure timely set up of required infrastructure
Structure the information in ways that are appropriate to the target audience; ensure that activities are communicated in due time and that key information are understood
Produce and/or review documents; follow-up document revision with an eye on project schedule and deadlines
Provide suggestions for service or methodology improvements; escalate issues, in particular the ones with potential impacts on time or resources
Supporting Client’s IT operations by supervising the management of the network and network security -done by the contractors- in all areas (configuration, event, incident, change, problem, knowledge, continuity,...):
Supervise client contractors and other Commission services for release and change management related tasks/activities
Follow -occasionally and when required- the implementation of changes or the troubleshooting activities related to incidents, acting as technical support in crisis management situations (this may require working outside ’normal’ hours)
Understand, apply and suggest improvements of client’s methodology, security policies, tools, best practices, etc. Supervise the analysis of complex technical problems
Identify and anticipates design flaws and infrastructure needs not overseen by the development teams
Ensure the adequacy and accessibility of the appropriate documentations to the relevant actors
The task requires broad experience in networking, excellent technical expertise and practical experience in the architecture and/or project management related to enterprise- level Networking and IT Security infrastructure, and specifically in the specific area of Cisco ACI-based LAN and WAN networking technologies, processes and projects. Such experience should be matured in complex and structured organisation with outsourced services and proven with practical activities.
For the deeply technical role to be assumed, the consultant delivering the service must have a Cisco DC CCIE certification, as well as an experience in critical Incident or Crisis Management.
The service involves producing and reviewing architectural documents, minutes, business cases, vision documents, service level agreements, terms of collaboration, planning schedules.

Requirements

University degree required;
Relevant experience required in complex IT environments; 9 years of general experience plus 4 years of specialized experience in networking;
Excellent technical expertise and practical experience in the architecture and/or project management related to enterprise - level Networking and IT Security infrastructure, and specifically in the specific area of Cisco ACI-based LAN and WAN networking technologies, processes and projects
Must have: Cisco DC CCIE certification
Relevant experience in critical incident or Crisis Management
