Ready to be our next Application Engineer at NXP?

Within our Personal Health R&D group, headquartered in Leuven, we want to capture the strong market growth in ICs for hearing aids and implants, hearables, wearables, and personal health monitoring applications, health IoT.

Owing to our success, our department of 40+ engineers is growing, and we have nice opportunities for software engineers.

Our System-on-Chip products employ the latest Bluetooth Smart (BLE) with our experience in ultra-low power design.

We develop the full software stack from driver-level all to way to turnkey applications, enabling our customers to build their products with minimum effort.

Your responsibilities

As a Graduate Software Engineer, you may have very limited knowledge about many of the items listed below. In a starter job, your eagerness and capability to learn are more important than your experience. The job description sketches the context in which you will work, rather than listing preconditions for the job.

As a Graduate Software Engineer you:

  • contribute to the development of embedded SW applications, guided by a senior colleague or an architect;
  • estimate the effort of your work and contribute to reviewing the estimates of peers;
  • contribute to the design of the software that is to be made;
  • code and test your software ;
  • build experience and know-how; and
  • last but not least: you want to become a proud software craftswoman, craftsman, or crafts-X

Your profile

To be successful in this role you:

  • have a Master’s degree in Software Engineering or Electronics, or reached this level through another form of training or internship experience,
  • are a natural team player and eager to learn and gain experience,
  • can fluently express your ideas in spoken and written English.

Moreover, you have a keen interest in

  • microcontroller architectures and peripherals,
  • building real-time systems on bare metal or on an RTOS using C,
  • scripting in Python,
  • design methods and software engineering processes.

Contract: This is a full-time position with a permanent contract. However, we are open to discussing a part-time opportunity as well.
