Hardware Engineer - Nivelles (Belgium) - Permanent Position

The Role:

We’re currently recruiting a Hardware Engineer for an employer in the Nivelles region, who are specialized in cutting-edge product development for products used across various sectors including medical & renewable energy.

As a Hardware Engineer you will be a crucial part of the product development team, focusing on prototyping and hardware design. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to bring innovative ideas to life, from concept through to production. Your expertise will ensure that products meet high standards of functionality, reliability, and performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and test hardware prototypes for new products.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed design specifications and schematics.
  • Develop detailed circuit designs and PCB layouts.
  • Select appropriate components and materials to optimize performance and cost.
  • Perform simulations and analysis to validate design concepts.
  • Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware issues during the development phase.
  • Develop and execute test plans, including stress testing and failure analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive documentation for designs, prototypes, and test results.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of design changes and improvements.
  • Provide regular progress reports to project managers and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the manufacturing team to transition prototypes to mass production.
  • Provide technical support and guidance throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in hardware design and prototyping.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in hardware design and prototyping.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Eagle, OrCAD).
  • Strong understanding of circuit design, PCB layout, and hardware debugging.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
