Job Description

Objectives

The Head of Strategic Projects:
  • Understands program needs & define guiding principles, operation constraints & operations strategy for the integration of a new purification line and a new warehouse
  • Ensures alignment across the organization & impacted stakeholders, including the Site capital Lead.
  • Defines ramp-up operating structure, reporting flows and operating mechanisms

Accountabilities

  • Together with the project leaders, he/she is accountable for the New Purification and Ware-house project execution within timeline and budget
  • He/she will define guiding principles, operation constraints & operations strategy for the inte-gration od major new site assets
  • Ensures that all concepts evaluated during the Factory of the Future are incorporated into strategic projects
  • Must benchmark the internal Takeda sites, as well as external companies to implement best practices
  • Sets up high-level communication plan within Lessines and the Plasma OpU
  • Updates and evaluates the accuracy of the project forecast by assessing actual cost incurred and physical progress achieved for all phases.
  • Coaches and mentors new project teams reps.
  • Ensures compliance with Takeda requirements
  • Ensures alignment between site strategic projects and the Site Capital mechanisms.
  • Consults with the respective project management team as necessary to determine causes of major budget and timeline variances
  • Approves any changes to the project in conjunction with the project leader
  • Supports the implementation of lessons learned into own project and the organization in gen-eral
  • Is accountable for the creation of more detailed planning including ramp-up timeline, mile-stones, key activities, risks and dependencies
  • Identifies ramp-up complexity drivers, and plans perfect launch enablers
  • Runs the Ramp-Up PM office

Education and experience

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and fifteen plus (15+) years of experience in an engineering and/or facilities function within a biotech/pharmaceutical operations/ manufacturing environment.

  • Early supplier integration: Timely integration of suppliers into ramp-up planning & continu-ous validation of launch readiness
  • Continuous improvement: Systematic measurement & improvement of the operations through clear ownership and KPIs
  • Digital enablement: Enabling operations through innovative technologies to drive quality & productivity improvements
  • Manage complex capex programs in a pharmaceutical environment
  • Understand the concepts of the facility of the future and the implications on a manufactur-ing plant
  • Led multi-disciplinary program management
  • Capable to influence stakeholders in a (global) matrix organization
  • Agile mindset
