Unique opportunity for a solo inn keeper or couple to share the gracious hospitality of Brugge with guests from around the world. Experience the charm of charming The White Queen Bed and Breakfast located in the heart of Brugge. Welcome guests to this paradise 4 bedroom Bed and Breakfast by providing excellent guest relations, beautifully prepared and served daily breakfast, and recommendations for daily trips and site seeing. Duties include reservations, guest services, breakfast prep and service, housekeeping, laundry management, facilities management and gardening. This position requires computer work including social media and online reputation management. The White Queen is a year round bed and breakfast open seven days a week. This is a live-in position which includes private studio to live in, paid utilities and meals, and commission. Job Description

Ongoing responsibilities fall into the following general areas:

Reservations

• Inventory Management (making sure rooms are appropriately available to reserve)
• Verify room holds are being processed and released
• Verify room out-of-service conditions are being worked and released. Effectively this means that you should be regularly inspecting rooms, applying appropriate fixes, and open rooms back for reservations
• Fill newly available room nights with wait-listed persons

Food Preparation, Housekeeping and Laundry

• Monitors and tracks the inventory of all food and supplies
• Shops at grocery stores for food, supplies, and specialty items.
• Ensures that foods are being wrapped appropriately and stored at proper temperature.
• Keeps food storage areas and refrigerators clean, secure, and orderly.
• All housekeeping activities including room prep and refresh
• Keeping counters, stove in the kitchen clear and clean
• Verifying cleanliness, order, temperature and lighting of rooms that guests are checking into today

Guest Relations

• Answering phone, checking voicemail and responding in a timely manner
• Answering prospective guest emails
• Guest check-in and check-out
• Taking care of guest needs and establishing guest connection (making tea, giving restaurant recommendations, etc.). Coordinating to make sure today’s guest "special" needs are met (rollaway beds, moving luggage, etc).
• Greeting visitors and prospective guests

Bookkeeping/Financial Records

• Processing credit card payments
• Maintain audit worthy records keeping, receipts, etc.

Sales and Marketing

• Onsite responsibility for phone calls, walk-ins, tours, guest relations
• Online responsibility for reservation system, POS, Trip Advisor promotions

Qualifications

Must have demonstrated a high level of understanding of general Bed and Breakfast/Inn daily operations, and demonstrated a high level of responsibility and attention to detail.

Language Skills: English is a must + Dutch and/or French is a must as well

You will be the face of the property. Take the reservations, greet the guests, cook breakfast, arrange any special accommodations and requests. While there are repeat guests, the typical week would see new customers every day. If you like a fresh influx of new people on a daily basis, this would be the perfect for you.

Managers are required to have at least a high school diploma or G.E.D. Undergraduate degree in hotel management, hospitality or business is preferred. Additional experience working in a hotel management job position is both helpful and desirable.
