Main Responsibilities

The selected candidate is expected to contribute to:

  • ensuring the good functioning of FADN through a high-quality data collection, verification through data quality checks and validation, treating the data confidentially;
  • running the data validation software, analysing the outcome, and reporting to users; • monitoring of the tests that assess the quality of the FADN data in close cooperation with the internal IT specialists and analysts;
  • writing of technical documentation;
  • reporting in regular team coordination meetings and in meetings with Member States representatives;
  • ensuring the good communication of the FADN data to the EU public and research community;
  • facilitating the transition to the Farm Sustainability Data Network (FSDN), notably by providing expert’s knowledge to relevant colleagues and by offering possible options to develop the system;
  • a high quality of service to the network of liaison agencies by managing the helpdesk in turn with other colleagues to support Member States with their data collection process both technically and by interpreting the FADN regulation, and address a wide range of user requests;
  • the configuration and business testing of the RICA IS platforms and contribution to their evolution both in terms of improved functionalities and design

Successful Candidate

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

  • Master degree minimum

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

General

  • Very strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Very strong organising, prioritizing and systems thinking skills
  • Strong capacity to assign and follow up several various deadlines throughout the year
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • IT expertise with the handling of farm accounting data is required

Data and content

  • Very strong experience in working with databases and data management IT tools
  • Capacity to analyse a business process and the functional requirements and suggest improvements
  • Capability to write clear and structured technical documents
  • Eye for the details
  • Knowledge of farm accountancy principles and basic understanding of farm business activities. Team work and helpdesk activities
  • Strong experience in end-user assistance and training, with the capacity to identify the needs of stakeholders and to resolve stakeholders’ complaints quickly and efficiently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to work in a team and autonomously
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and to express oneself clearly in meetings, including in front of a large audience
  • Aptitude in reporting

Language

  • The selected candidate must be fluent in English in speaking and writing. The command of other EU languages that may be used to understand communications from Member States is an asset.
