Carrefour Belgium is looking forward to hiring a System / Network Datacenter Engineer with relevant experience in Datacenter- and cloud environments . Previous experience in retail, logistics, production or industry would be a big plus.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced System / Network Datacenter Engineer to work with our engineering team to develop, implement, optimize, and maintain cloud-based and on-prem solutions.

You will be responsible for deploying and debugging, educating teams on new initiatives, and ensuring the security of the infrastructure.

To be successful as a Datacenter engineer, you should be able to identify the most optimal solutions and maintain infrastructures in accordance with best practices and company security policies.

A top-notch System / Network Datacenter Engineer should have excellent troubleshooting skills, stay current with industry trends, and should be a team player.

As a Sr. System / Network Datacenter Engineer , you will be responsible for :

• Managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure (Switches, Routers,..)

You will:

• Install, configure, test and maintain network systems, application software and system management tools
• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks
• Collaborate with engineering and development teams to evaluate and identify optimal (cloud) Network solutions.
• Modify and improve existing systems.
• Educate teams on the implementation of technologies and initiatives.
• Develop and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices.
• Ensure efficient functioning of processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in security (Cloud and on-prem).
• Identify, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities
• Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements.
• Be sure that datacenters equipments are racked and placed in a correct way
• Provide 3rd level support
• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Your Profile

• Master or bachelor degree, in IT is a plus
• Experience of min 5 years in a similar function
• Solid Cloud experience, preferably in GCP
• Solid experience in Linux ( RHEL, CentOS)
• Experience with monitoring systems
• Solid scripting skills (e.g., Powershell / VBS/ Bash/ Shell/ Terraform/ Ansible )
• Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
• You are analytical, conceptual and open minded
• A good team spirit is a must
• You are eager to learn and you can figure out difficult problems by yourself
• You have no problem with working independently or in team
• You have no problem with helping out others
• You are flexible and can adapt yourself easily to change
• You can think out of the box
• languages: EN + FR/NL spoken and written
