Account Manager / Account Director, Belgian market

Reports to: Corporate & Consumer practice lead

Burson Cohn & Wolfe (BCW) Brussels, a leading and award-winning integrated public affairs and communications consultancy, is hiring an account manager/account director, to serve our clients in the Belgian market.

This is an important role reporting directly to the Corporate & Consumer Practice leader and helps to guarantee quality and excellence in the integrated communications offering of BCW Brussels.

You will work with a team of talented communications experts across the BCW global network.

The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of the Belgian media landscape, as well as a passion to nurture talent and to contribute to the continued success of BCW Brussels.

Requirements

• You will have a hands-on approach to managing a portfolio of Belgian and international projects, while nurturing client relationships and delivering strategic and well-thought-out integrated communications programs.
• You will work with account teams and clients to identify opportunities to deliver greater impact and results.
• You will respond to new business requests.
• Talent management: mentor and train team members and support them to deliver best-in-class consulting services.
• Thought Leadership: you will share knowledge and best practices internally and externally.

Key experience andskills

• You have a strong grounding in Belgian media relations and corporate affairs within an agency or a structured in-house communications department, with 4-8 years of experience.
• You have some international experience and are keen to develop the international dimension of your career even further.
• Preferably worked on corporate clients and issue and crisis management.
• Excellent understanding of PR mechanics and thorough knowledge of Belgian media.
• Excellent project management skills.
• Creative thinker with an eye for detail.
• Digital skills: you understand how to plan, engage, and analyse social media, how to create dialogue between your clients and their stakeholders.
• Business acumen: you can manage account financials, internal forecasting, and reporting, and are able to read financial indicators and evaluate the financial return of projects.
• Growth Mindset: we are looking for individuals who want to challenge both themselves and the status quo, who will bring their true selves and their passion to the team, and the work we do.
• Strong verbal skills in Dutch, French and English. Strong written skills in either French or Dutch.
• Be able to work independently and manage clients, entrepreneurial spirit; robust, determined, and hands-on approach.
• Pro-active, blended with strong interpersonal skills.
