Do you want to be part of the development of an integrated European offshore grid? MOG II, world’s first artificial energy island will serve as an electricity hub where cables from both the Princess Elisabeth Zone and future interconnectors with other European countries such as the United Kingdom and Denmark converge. The JV project team is looking for an accountant to strengthen their Finance team.
As an accountant you’ll be responsible for performing clerical duties and bookkeeping tasks to support financial operations under the supervision of the Finance Manager reporting to head of the Finance team for Marine Infrastructure works in Belgium.
Responsibilities
- Assist with processing accounts payable for joint-ventures and preparing the integrations of branch accounts during the quarterly closings;
- Ensuring or conducting statutory and commercial accounting in accordance with local legal requirements and IFRS guidelines;
- Requesting bank accounts for new suppliers;
- Checking and recording purchase invoices.
- Linking invoices with existing purchase orders/receiving reports;
- Following the approval process;
- Monitoring analytical coding;
- Point of contact for operations and suppliers;
- Preparing payment instructions and executing bank transactions;
- Inputting payments into the banking system;;
- Posting various journal entries and creating provisions;
- Import/Export forms: assistance with preparation if necessary;
- General administrative and ad hoc tasks.
Your Profile
- Degree in accountancy or economics.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience (accounting experience in an audit, accountancy firm and/or accounting department).
- Fluent in Dutch and English.
- Communicative, flexible, not afraid to take initiatives.
- Proactive, a team-player and able to work independently.
- Actively participate and support of the improving accounting process into the ERP.
- Advanced MS Excel.
- Customer service oriented (internal and external).
- Ability to work under pressure and a high degree of ability to define priorities.
- Oriented to detail and organized.
- Proactive and with a high sense of teamwork.
- Knowledge of KPD software system is a plus;
